What is Ceramide NP?
Ceramide NP is one of the most abundant and well-studied ceramides naturally found in skin. Ceramides are natural fats that make up a large part of skin's outer protective layer, and Ceramide NP in particular plays a central role in holding that layer together and keeping moisture from escaping. It is included in INTOIT's IlluminEye Under Eye Serum and Lip Restore SPF Lip Balm, two products used on areas of the face where skin is especially thin and prone to moisture loss.

How Does It Work?
Skin's outer layer works a bit like a brick wall: skin cells act as the bricks, and lipids like ceramides act as the mortar holding everything together. Ceramide NP is the most abundant of these lipids in skin, and it plays a central structural role in that mortar, helping keep the barrier tightly sealed so moisture stays in and irritants stay out.
Areas like the under-eye and lips naturally have a thinner barrier with fewer oil glands, which makes them more prone to water loss and sensitivity. Replenishing Ceramide NP in these areas is designed to reinforce that thinner barrier, helping skin feel less dry and more resilient day to day.
